President's Message
Dear Citizen, Business, and Community,
My name is Michael Ogawa and I would like to welcome you to the Westminster Police Officer’s Association (WPOA) website. I am honored and privileged to be the current WPOA President and take great pride in being able to represent the many fine men and women of this organization.
The WPOA is comprised of approximately 125 men and women, both sworn and civilian. Many people in the community recognize the WPOA as a labor group, but we are much more than simply a labor group. The WPOA and its members actively collaborate with the citizens of Westminster to make a concerted, positive difference in the lives of others. It is through this interface with the community that WPOA members have an opportunity to further give back to the community whom they serve.
What many people may be surprised to know is that the WPOA also runs a non-profit organization, the Westminster Police Officer's Memorial Foundation. This foundation provides funds to support police officers and/or their families in times of need throughout the state, as well as other non-profit organizations that serve our community. One of the most well-known fundraisers our members participate in is an annual bike ride from the state law enforcement memorial in Sacramento to the Westminster Police Officer's memorial, located in the common area of the City Hall complex. Operating as a non-profit organization allows the Westminster Police Officer's Memorial Foundation and its WPOA members, to extend its financial reach further into the community. By providing donations to various other benevolent organizations within the city we are better able to assist the community through our combined efforts.
Sincerely,
Kyle Seasock, Westminster POA President
